Care Clinic's Medical and Behavioral Health Office in Leadville Adds Appointment Availability

Jan 4, 2024

On Thursday, January 4, 2024, Summit Community Care Clinic’s new medical and behavioral health office in Leadville, located at 735 Highway 24, expanded medical services to two days per week and began scheduling behavioral health appointments one day per week. The Leadville office is now open on Thursdays and Fridays for medical care, and on Fridays for behavioral health care.

The Care Clinic added availability at its Leadville office, which opened in September 2023, to meet the increased demand for healthcare services in Lake County. The Leadville practice shares a facility with Lake County Public health and Lake County Human Services, allowing residents to easily access the County’s many integral public assistance programs in one place.

“It’s encouraging to see the word getting out in Lake County that residents no longer have to drive to neighboring counties to see a primary care provider. Lowering barriers to health care, such as transportation and long commute times, results in better patient outcomes, a higher quality of life, and healthier communities” said Dr. Kathleen Cowie, Chief Medical Officer at the Care Clinic.

The Care Clinic operates on an integrated care model, which offers behavioral health care and dental care alongside medical care. Lake County patients can continue to access the Care Clinic’s dental services at 223 Harrison Avenue in Leadville.
