Our licensed Behavioral Health team consists of professional counselors, clinical social workers and addictions counselors who work with patients to enhance their social, emotional and behavioral health.

In addition to working with patients on their care, counselors work closely with medical providers in a team approach that emphasizes the importance of treating the whole person. Our aim is to empower patients to make healthy life choices and learn skills to cope with medical conditions and life challenges. All our therapists are trained in evidence-based treatment modalities including specialized training for addressing trauma, severe emotional dysregulation, sleep issues, and several other common psychosocial disorders.

All Behavioral Health services provided through the Care Clinic are confidential. Behavioral Health services might be short term, solution-focused services for brief needs, or may require longer-term engagement for more severe and long-standing issues. Questions about treatment and duration can be addressed to your provider at the time of service.

We believe in collaborative care with patients and aim to foster a warm and caring relationship that will help our patients make important changes and address difficult issues.

Services:

School Based Health Centers

Behavioral Health services for children and adolescents are available in every Summit, Lake and Park County school through our School Based Health Centers. These youth focused counseling services are provided in the school setting during the school day to increase child and family access to needed supports while minimizing extra time away from school or work.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach to treating opioid and alcohol addiction with a combination of medication and psychosocial support services such as counseling. Respected scientific sources, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institute on Drug Abuse and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), all recommend medication-assisted treatment for opioid and alcohol addiction.

Our MAT program takes a holistic approach to treating the patient. We use medication to manage physical withdrawal and to reduce cravings, and counseling and other recovery support services to address the psychological symptoms of addiction.
