Helen joined the Care Clinic in 2006 as a Grant Coordinator and she implemented the Integrated Care program. She subsequently served as the Behavioral Health Director, Quality Assurance Director and Chief Operating Officer before becoming Chief Executive Officer in 2016. Helen has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of California and a master’s degree in Agency Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado. She has lived in Summit County since 1988.
Erin joined the Care Clinic as the Dental Coordinator when the Care Clinic first implemented dental services in 2007. She subsequently spent 10 years as the School Based Health Director before returning to the Dental Department as the Chief Dental Officer in 2018. In her 35+ years in Summit County, Erin has served in various leadership positions including on the boards of Summit School District, Early Childhood Options, and the Colorado Association of School Based Health Centers. Erin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Iowa. She loves all that Summit County has to offer for recreation and spends her weekends skiing at Arapahoe Basin.
Dr. Kathleen Cowie is a family physician with a special interest in women and children’s health. She is fluent in Spanish and has a passion for providing compassionate medical care at home and abroad, having volunteered on outreach trips in Honduras, Peru, Bolivia, and Guatemala. Dr. Cowie graduated from Loyola Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 2006 but fell in love with the Colorado Rockies while completing her family medicine residency at St. Anthony Central/North Hospitals in Denver. Prior to joining the Care Clinic in 2012, she provided full-spectrum family medicine including obstetrics and newborn care at Salud Family Health Centers in Commerce City and Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton. Dr. Cowie became Chief Medical Officer in 2017. In her free time, she loves doing all things outdoors and spending time with her family.
Dr. Christine Curtis is a psychologist with over 18 years of experience in community mental health. She has provided behavioral health services to adults, children and adolescents. Prior to joining the Summit Community Care Clinic as Chief Behavioral Health Officer, Dr. Curtis worked at a variety of psychiatric inpatient hospitals, psychiatric emergency services and drug and alcohol treatment facilities.
Dr. Curtis graduated from John F. Kennedy University and has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Multicultural Clinical Community Psychology. She went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral health at Portia Bell Hume Behavioral Health and Training Center. Her interest is in working with individuals with mood disorders, co-occurring conditions and substance use.
As SCCC’s Chief Behavioral Officer, she provides oversight and guidance on clinical quality, program development and management, workforce development, clinical research, and clinical operations for blended primary care and behavioral health services within the organization. Dr. Curtis will also soon be the new training director for SCCC’s APA-accredited Psychology Internship Consortium Program. She is also involved in integrated health care policy and practice issues and serves on several Colorado State advisory boards for improving population health and integrated primary care. Outside of practice, Dr. Curtis enjoys spending time with her 4 paw kids, exploring anything outdoors and international travel.
Prior to joining the Care Clinic, Dave held senior financial positions in Diebold, Inc., Bethany Home Health and most recently at CaptureRx in San Antonio. Dave brings a background of both financial and operational leadership with the past eight years focused on patient self service and home health solutions. While serving as CFO of CaptureRx, Dave supported over 300 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) across the country. During this time Dave was introduced to the mission of FQHC’s which is what lead him to join SCCC. Dave has a B.S. in Accounting and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems. In his spare time, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors and caring for his three basset hound dogs (Bo, Shorty and Bentley).
Tracey was born and educated in London, England. Since moving to Midwest, U.S. in 1995, Tracey transitioned from treasury/banking into finance/accounting, then found her niche in process improvement, business and cash/finance operations. Once the siren call of the mountains beckoned Tracey, she left corporate America of a large healthcare organization to join SCCC. Tracey spends her spare time with her family, which includes fur babies too. She loves to ski and spending time outdoors.
Cassandra Anton has been with the Care Clinic since 2015 with experience as a quality professional in multiple industries. Cassandra holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She is a Colorado native who loves hiking, camping, skiing, and exploring the Colorado backcountry.
Jenna joined the Care Clinic in 2018 after prior work in nutrition education and care management. She has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science form the University of Montana and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Colorado State University. Jenna is passionate about continuing the success of the School-Based Health Centers and working with the talented Care Clinic team. She loves all the great outdoor activities Summit County has to offer including running, skiing and camping.
Nissa Erickson has been with the Care Clinic since 2019 after working for Congressman Jared Polis, CD-2, for a decade. Nissa holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Olaf College. She earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Denver, Daniel’s College of Business. She is a Colorado native who loves skiing, hiking, paddle boarding, biking, yoga and traveling.
Amy Perchick joined the Care Clinic in 2019. She has a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in Health Administration from Temple University. Amy has worked in healthcare administration for over 20 years and still works some weekends as an Occupational Therapist. Amy has lived in Summit County since 2004 and enjoys time with her daughter, the outdoors in all seasons, knitting, cooking, and a good book.
Misty joined the Care Clinic in 2020 after prior work managing dermatology clinics across Western Colorado. She also has experience in home health and hospice care with a collective 20 years experience in healthcare. Misty holds a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Health Services/ Healthcare Management from Missouri State University and has been licensed in Practical Nursing since February 2000. She is passionate about serving the Colorado mountain communities and creating avenues for patients to access healthcare. In her free time, Misty loves spending time with her husband, 3 human children and 3 fur babies. She enjoys all that living in Colorado has to offer and won’t turn down a chance to travel. If you do not find her out exploring or working on a home project, you can usually find her in her hammock with a good book.
