Care Clinic’s Behavioral Health team consists of licensed professional counselors and a licensed addictions counselor who work with patients to help enhance their emotional and behavioral health.
Counselors work closely with medical providers in a team approach that emphasizes the importance of treating the whole person. We offer short term, solution focused interventions as well as long term therapy that aims to empower patients to make healthy life choices and learn skills to cope with their medical conditions and life challenges. All of our therapists are trained in evidence based treatment modalities including specialized training in working with trauma survivors.
Care Clinic has a bilingual counselor available for Spanish speaking patients.
Meet Our Behavioral Health Team
Matt Brenner- Matt is a Licensed Professional Counselor candidate. He approaches working with clients from a relationship based lens and works to foster a respectful and trusting relationship with all clients. Matt practices in the School based Health Centers and the middle and high school locations.
Cassie Comeau- Cassie is the Behavioral Health Director and a Licensed Counseling Psychologist. She specializes in trauma, major depression, men’s issues, diversity/cultural issues, mindfulness and child psychology. Cassie practices in the School Based Health Centers in Silverthorne and Dillon elementary as well as Summit Middle School. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and believes in building a strong relationship with clients. Cassie is also trained in EMDR.
Christian Diaz- Christian is from Puerto Rico and joined SCCC in 2013. He served on active duty for 8 years in the United States Coast Guard and has a Master in Counseling degree. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his children, his wife and his dog. He is very proud of being part of the SCCC team and in making a difference in patient’s lives.
Jeanette Kintz – Jeanette is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor. She specializes in substance use counseling, EMDR and trauma work. She has lived in Summit County since 1998 and is also the Clinical Supervisor and Addictions Specialist at Mind Springs Health.
Susanne Neal- Susanne is a Certified Addictions Counselor III and a National Certified Counselor II. Susanne specialized in EMDR and focuses on a holistic perspective with clients. Susanne works with clients around substance use and mental health needs and works out of the main clinic.
Susan Preaus - Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She uses a strength based approach that uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Susan works in both the middle and high school for the School Based Health Services with adolescents. She moved to Summit County in 1994 and lives here with her family.
