Meet the amazing Care Team at our clinic. . .
Helen Royal, Behavioral Health Director
Helen joined the Clinic's staff in 2006. Helen received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1988 and a Master’s degree in Agency Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 1996. In addition to being the Behavioral Health Director, Helen is a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor. She is also a member of the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) and is Level I certified by EAGALA. Helen helps ease the process of referring patients for Behavioral Health services. She uses solution focused, cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help patients learn to manage their physical and emotional stressors. She also works as part of the Care Team to make essential resources and information available. In addition, she is responsible for collaborating at a local and state level to ensure quality care for Care Clinic clients, compliance with State and Federal contracts and service integration with agency partners.
Jenniffer Gonzalez, Care Team Manager & Women’s Health Coordinator
Jenniffer moved to Summit County in January, 2004 and joined the Summit Community Care Clinic staff in May of 2004. She was born in Panama. She has a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Tourism and trained at Las Palmas University in the Canary Islands, Spain. Jenniffer feels passionate about her job because she loves helping and offering support to her Latino community. She is also our Women’s Health Coordinator, providing case management and care coordination for women eligible for the Women Wellness Connection and Susan G. Komen grants, which make free women's annual exams and mammograms possible. Jenniffer supervises the Care Team and provides them with the tools to reach the goals established by the Care Team.
Zulma Fuller, Health Educator & Dental Assistant
Zulma has been part of the Summit County community since 1997 and joined the Care Clinic's staff in February of 2007. She was born in Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico. As a Health Educator, she interviews patients regarding their substance and alcohol use, provides brief counseling and makes treatment referrals for those who wish to seek further treatment. In 2002, Zulma finished her training as a dental assistant. She assists our dentists with procedures and educates patients on how to improve their oral health. She graduated from Cobaes 26 University in 1995. Currently, Zulma is working on a degree to become a Dental Hygienist. In her spare time, Zulma enjoys spending time with her husband Stephen and kids, Maya and Brendan. They enjoy traveling, visiting museums, playing at water parks, and hiking.
Lacey Naaktgeboren, Outreach Coordinator
Lacey joined the Clinic's staff in 2007. She was born in Iowa and received her Bachelors Degree from Iowa State University. Lacey coordinates the Colorado Family Planning Initiative Expansion Grant (CFPI), which provides funding for long-acting reversible contraceptives, such as contraceptive implants and IUDs. This grant also funds permanent sterilizations. Lacey coordinates the outreach the Care Clinic provides to the community. She maintains familiarity with programs and works closely with front office staff to develop and refine procedures for communication with the general public and prospective patients by assessing and developing new and existing groups. Sole Hardoy, Equality in Health & Data Coordinator
Sole lived the first 25 years of her life in Argentina. She joined the Care Clinic team in 2009 as our Eligibility Coordinator. Sole received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Buenos Aires University. She is now our Equality in Health and Data Coordinator and is responsible for developing cultural competency programs to be used in orientations and education for our staff and community partners. Sole is responsible for the quality assurance function which involves the assessment on how the clinic is doing in terms of eliminating healthcare barriers and identifying where we need additional structure and support to make necessary improvements necessary to the Clinic’s function and procedures. Sole exemplifies clinic values while interacting with patients and with the public all the while displaying fiscal responsibility and stewardship for the organization.
Haley Erickson, Eligibility Coordinator
Haley moved to Summit County in 2007. She is originally from San Diego, California and graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. She started working at the Clinic in August, 2009 as a patient representative at our front desk and was quickly promoted to a dual role as Eligibility and Health Coordinator. She screens all new and existing patients for clinic eligibility based on income and residency. She is responsible for determining eligibility for all clinic services. She orients patients to the wide array of clinic services while informing them of their rights and responsibilities. Her position exhibits knowledge of programs that uninsured, low-income individuals may be eligible for and uses that knowledge in questioning patients for eligibility. Haley’s exemplifies clinic values while interacting with patients and the public. She also demonstrates fiscal responsibility and stewardship for the organization.
Vicki Zablocki, Health Educator & Patient Assistance Representative
Vicky moved to Summit County in March, 2009 and started volunteering at the Clinic in May, 2009. Originally from Spain, Vicky studied Physical Therapy at the University Of A Coruña. In October 2009, she became part of the Care Team as a Health Educator performing SBIRT screenings (substance use assessments) and providing motivational interviewing and referrals for substance abuse treatments. For the Patient Assistance Program, Vicky oversees the database of patients who receive their medications at no cost through various pharmaceutical programs, coordinates applications and obtains medications for patients.
